Is this Normal?

The girl will sit and do this for very long stretches of time. She does it in her bed, in the living room, our room, and probably even the kitchen. Is this normal?

If nothing else it's a good ab exercise, right?

This week

Well, I got a little bit of crafting desire back this week. Still not enough to finish Jeff's Christmas present, but he'll have it by next winter, I promise! This dress is patterned after the blue one that she wears to church. This one is made of flannel though, so hopefully it'll be a nice warm one for a while. I don't know if I'm going to add any embellishments or anything to it, but this is how it looks right now.I also made french bread last night. It looks funny, but it actually tastes like it's supposed to, so that is a step in the right direction. When I asked Sam what we wanted me to learn how to do in the kitchen this year he said "make bread". So that is what I'm doing. I'm glad I have a whole year to figure it out! I'm still putting off making loaf bread, but I'm building up to it. We make the Macaroni Grill bread a lot and it's super yummy. Maybe with more practice we'll add french bread to the list of easily made bread.

So Funny

Today she started doing something new that we thought was pretty hilarious, so here is a short video to brighten your day.

Birdhouses

Ruby Valley was asked to do the center pieces for the stake women's conference that is coming up in March. So it was decided we'd do birdhouses. Anyway, I had some fun this last week making this birdhouse out of stuff that was around. It isn't functional and truth be told, hot glue is probably NOT the best way to build a birdhouse, but it works for a center piece, right?

This one was made from an old book, it should have been fuller, but I just don't have that many old books laying around that are 200+ pages long! It also would have looked better had I taken more time to fold the pages carefully, but I didn't, and that's okay.

Thrift

Well, we had to go to town for basketball today and I got to stop in the thrift store. Any of my siblings will be able to appreciate the utter excitement I felt when I saw this poker chip rack. Notice that the handle isn't broken or anything?! I am missing some chips, but that is an easy fix! I was even more excited when they only charged me $2 for it! Bonus! The Love and Logic book was only 50¢, the movie that I have to admit is a guilty pleasure of mine that I always borrow from my brother in-law (Sam said, "Don't we have that movie?" sadly, I do borrow it that often) was only $2, and the long sleeve onsie was 50¢. The grand total was $5.
This is just the cute girl and her dad playing. They are the best!

And Thus...

And thus with a calf....it starts!

Here comes the middle of the night checks and calf-pullings and all kinds of calving loveliness!

He is such a cute first calf!

What we've been up to

On Friday was the Appreciation Dinner at the church that the men of the community put on for the women. We got dressed up and went to it, it was fun.

The girl got a little possessive of the vacuum when it was out this week. I plan on using this one day to prove to her that she actually DOES like to vacuum.
This is a quick video clip of some of the highlights of the week. This girl loves her music!

A new look and talent

We tried a new hair style today, besides being lopsided, it was pretty cute. I also figured I should share a video of her crawling.
