December Fun

December was a fun month. We got to participate in the Valley party that Santa visits. The Girl did pretty good this year, The Boy had some serious reservations. He didn't cry though, so we still have hope.

Before Christmas we always have the Grandma Great's family party where the kids act out the nativity. I'm not sure if he looked more like a ninja or a wise man... The Girl nailed the angel part though, even if we didn't get great pictures. (She is the smallest angel).

Christmas was a little blurry since most of us were sick. On Christmas Eve all but The Girl wanted naps. So our dear sweet 3 year old decorated the tree by herself. Usually there is a ring around the bottom where there are no ornaments, not this year, everything was in the short ring around the bottom. She did a wonderful job! We even got our fireplace installed so we had Christmas in front of a warm fire. The Boy thought the dump truck he got made a better ride than anything else. Sam looks awesome in his new "town hat".

And last but not least, what would Christmas be without a puzzle? And a good time playing on the new sled in the skiff of snow that we got?

November

Our nap times started to look a little different in November. We told the kids that we were expecting child #3 in June of 2015. They weren't all that excited.

We spent Thanksgiving in Provo with my parents and sister. We told the rest of the family on Thanksgiving that we were expecting. Since I really wasn't feeling up to much Sam took it upon himself to do all the Black Friday/Christmas shopping by himself. I think we all learned from this. What I learned was that it's really nice not to have to do anything but help wrap! When we got home we wrapped things up and put them out of the way for the next month.

October ends

We went the back way home from Wyoming and got to visit some parts of Idaho that we haven't seen before. We got to visit the Idaho Falls temple and visitors center.

And of course, we have to throw in some Halloween pictures! This year we had a tractor and Anna.

Wyoming part 2

The main purpose to go to Wyoming was to go for Huntin' Camp. This has been a family tradition for who knows how long and we are so happy we went. We didn't know at the time it would be the last year for a very beloved uncle. It just won't be the same without him. The kids refer to this and when we "went to see Papa." It was great to get out in nature and have fun. We especially liked the hiking.

Wyoming part 1

Something else we took the opportunity to do in October was go to Wyoming. We drove in and spent some time in Afton looking at headstones. We found the grave of the Anson Vasco Call II, an important person in our family. We also walked around a bit and took some pictures.

October 2014

I apologize for taking so long to update. We're trying to be better! So here we go, this is what happened last October...

We went hiking up behind the mill. It was on this fateful evening that we broke the screen on our camera. Bummer!

We also attempted to get some family pictures in the month of October.

Sunday Stroll

We went for a walk last night and ended up in the "fairy castle" behind the ranch house. The trampoline is back there and it's actually pretty awesome.

These two LOVE to play together... most of the time.

This is the farm boy look of ultimate concentration.

Tag

The other day we were waiting for Sam to come back with another load of bales and the kids discovered how fun it is to play tag in the long rows.

Alice decided she'd better just take a rest and watch out for cows getting too close to the kids.

Not so bad

So one year older and things aren't so bad. How can someone complain when they get this to wake up to?

Birthday

So my birthday finally came around to finish out the round of family birthdays for the year. Sam really outdid himself...it was wonderful! I had a great treasure hunt; even if it was helped and hindered by the same 3 year old little helper.

The family loot! I was spoiled.
Down at the other family dinner I got a 6 day cooler, a Gene Kelly movie collection, and a kids book for helping with FHE or something (it hasn't arrived yet so I'm not sure exactly).

It was a lovely day. I am blessed and highly favored of the Lord.
