Barnyard Birthday!

We sure love having birthdays around here! This year's theme was inspired by a major present from our favorite Texas Grandparents! The Boy had to chase around a bit following a treasure hunt to get to his last present.

This is a pretty long video that shows him seeing the barn for the first time.

As soon as his cake was gone he disappeared. It took me a few minutes to notice that he had gone back over to play with his barn.

Here is the cake - he was very excited that there was a tractor on it! Now he has a red tractor and a grain silo like his daddy.

Now if only he could let his siblings play with it without getting mad...It'll happen soon, right?! Because his siblings are drooling over this thing!

Happy Sunday

Before today I think the only song that The Boy knew was "Temple", and really there were only a few words from that song that he would sing. So tonight when he requested a new song, it was pretty exciting. Behold the miracles of nursery. Now as soon as we can figure out his behavioral problems so we stop getting bad reports from nursery leaders, that'd be great! Until then we will enjoy the little things... and so can you.

January Family Outing

One of our family resolutions for the year is to have more family outings. We planned on going sledding alone, but when there is a primary/4H sledding party, it's all the more fun! So we are counting that as our family outing for the month. We had a great time. It was a lovely 40ish degrees, which left us with some really WET clothing, but it was still a blast. We did not have any adverse crashes either, so we're gonna call that a win.

The Boy and I went on the trails that started in the middle of the mountain and toward the bottom. 

 What fun is sledding without a few spills?

And this proves we are the parents of the year...

Oh wait! We gotta have proof that Little Boy Blue was around! He slept in a truck while we did the major sledding, and was happy and chipper when we got home.

Flight of the drone

Sam got a drone for Christmas and took it out for a test flight New Year's Day. He tried it out on Christmas, but found the drone doesn't fare well in the wind. Here's some footage of the voyage. It gives a nice view of our winter wonderland.

 Someone has discovered the greatness of books!

Since our kids were SO GOOD on New Years Eve the elves from the North Pole brought them some of the left over candy and goodies from Christmas. They got to wake up to their New Year's stockings!

Baby firsts

I was remiss when I didn't post that on November 13 Little Boy Blue learned how to roll over. This video was taken December 16, so he was an old pro by then, but it's still cute if you ask us. It is almost 2 minutes long though!

So I didn't get in trouble for forgetting to document another mile stone, last night Little Boy Blue joined the ranks of us who can sit up. Here is proof:
