A new dress

If Maggie could talk I'm pretty sure this would be her commentary.

"Really? Okay, is this enough of a 'happy look' for you?"
"Um, this neck is a little tight"

"I'm starting to fall apart here, a little help please?"
"Oh, that looks interesting...."
"I'm begging you, please put the camera down."

"I asked you nicely, now I have to do something to make you put it down."

"Oops, did I do that?"

"Oh, you're done?! Well, I guess I can smile for you now."

This is the dress when it isn't being christened by spit-up

Unhappy Family Pictures

We tried to take some family pictures after a cowboy wedding we went to on Saturday. The baby had had enough and just wanted to eat and go to sleep. So, she didn't want to put on a cute face for the picture, but I think the pictures were pretty funny, so here they are.

Aw, she's so happy!

New Duds

These are some of the things I made for Maggie this week. I didn't have a pattern for either, so I made them up as I went along. I still have some fixing to do with the patterns, but these will work for now.
For the hat I did some parts in crochet, and some parts in knit. The white band is actually a knit cabled braid, and the band around the hat is knit.

These sandals have yet to be kicked off....after the addition of the diagonal straps that is.

Enough hair

Well, I tried something new today, I tried to see if she had enough hair for a snappy clip, and she does!

"Favorite" Onsies?!

Is it just me, or do babies have their favorite onsies to have blow-outs in? There are about 3 onsies, that get filled up every time we put her in them!

No joke, this morning was blow-out number 1, okay, fine, clean it up, start the laundry. I look in her drawer to get another one out, the last clean one is another "blow-out" one. Bummer.

So I get her dressed and think to myself, "She can't possibly have another blow-out, I just cleaned the last one up."...

About an hour later Sam was holding her and she was making some pretty interesting noises, I was laughing so hard I cried. That is until we noticed that her diaper wasn't containing things anymore... awesome. So, we dumped her in the bath, 2 blow-outs within an hour and a half, that deserves a bath, don't you think?

So here is our little monster, looking quite pleased with herself, after her bath.

We were totally blessed this morning to have the camera out for other things and ended up getting her first giggle on camera. Gotta love her!!

Christmas in July

For Christmas last year we got this amazing vinyl for a calendar from my sister in-law. And because of the crazy haying schedule Sam has actually had some afternoons at home this week so he decided it was finally time to make the frame and get this on the wall. We decided to put it on a metal sheeting for a background so it could be that much cooler. We went to home depot and got a roll of metal and sliced it into 3 pieces, then Sam glued those to a board. Finally, he made this awesome frame. So we got brave and attached the vinyl to the metal, it has a few issues, mostly where the seams of metal are, but we are so thrilled with the end result! Coren, my sister in-law, does the greatest things with vinyl! You can check out her stuff at http://www.etsy.com/shop/elephannie .

Thanks again Gordon and Coren for such a great Christmas present!!
