We took a couple of weeks off from house building for Christmas, and when we got back the first task was to put on the roof. First we to finish the wraparound porch, which went fast.
Our first plan was to get the boom truck out on Thursday to set the trusses, but with snow in the forecast we hustled to get ready and got Elko Truss Co. out on Wednesday instead. It was raining for the four hours they were there, but at least it wasn't snowing or icy.
Emilio from Elko Truss was quite nimble climbing up and down the walls. I was kind of glad it wasn't me up there.
Miguel worked the boom. He was efficient and didn't knock anyone off the wall. So that was nice.
It took only a couple of hours and we were done with the trusses on the house. The garage was next.
